On Friday, June 26th 2020, Norris E. Clippinger of Denton North Carolina, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at the age of 89.
Norris was born on the 5th of September, 1930 in Sutherland, Iowa to Herbert and Dorothy Collier. She moved to Chicago Illinois and married Donald D. Clippinger. She then moved to Orlando, Florida where she took her granddaughters on countless trips to Disney World! After her husband passed she moved to the Denton area to be close to her granddaughters.
Norris was an avid reader, loved sending cards to family and friends as well as anything to do with chickens and roosters. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing cards with the ladies, spending time with her great grandson Alex and pampering her Heidi. She was known for her love of fun music and her kind smile.
Norris is preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Dorothy Collier, as well as her husband Donald.
Norris is survived by her loving sister, Leona Gulliford (of Lombard IL), beautiful daughter, Jan Edelen and her partner Del (of BelGrade MT) her son David Clippinger and his wife Susan (of Kissimmee FL) and Kenneth Clippinger and his devoted wife Tressa (of Denton NC). As well as her grandchildren Jessica Clippinger, Veronica Clippinger, Jessica Stillman, Phillip Edelen, Sean Edelen, Marie Edelen, Cristina Edelen, and Anna Edelen. Her great grandchildren Aspen Edelen, Taysen Edelen, Kiarra Edelen, Alexander Clippinger, and Lily Edelen. She also leaves behind her Snookie, James and Denny as well as great nieces, great nephews, great, great nieces and great, great nephews!
Due to a series of unfortunate events, Norris passed away unexpectedly at home, surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in her name to Hospice of Randolph County.
