Impactful final innings give Wolverines a win over HMS


Matthew Riedemann comes home to score the final run for South O'Brien as the ball eludes HMS catcher Kooper Ebel.

South O'Brien broke a tie with two runs in the bottom of the sixth and then survived a bases-loaded situation in the seventh to defeat Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 3-1 June 25 at Paullina. With one out in the top of the seventh and the bags filled with Hawks, reliever Kaedon Louscher fielded a comebacker, threw home to catcher Dain Moermond for the forceout and saw Moermond fire to first baseman Josh Johannsen to complete the game-ending twin killing. The victory allowed the Wolverines to improve to 2-5 on the season.
