Lydia Flinders Places Third

One of the first speaking events that many freshmen FFA members compete in is the FFA Creed Speaking event. South O'Brien FFA member, Lydia Flinders, was the chapter's representative for the event this year.
Each participant must recite from memory, the five paragraphs of the FFA Creed without any opening or closing comments, other than the title "The FFA Creed." Afterwards, three judges each ask questions prepared by the Iowa FFA Association to test the contestants' understanding of the FFA Creed.
At the NE Sub-District contest, Lydia placed 3rd, earned a Gold rating and advanced to the NW District contest where she earned a Silver rating.
"Creed speaking was something that was out of my comfort zone. I had never spoken in front of people for a competition or memorized that much to say. It was overall very rewarding because I got to make it to districts and spend time with friends memorizing it." commented Lydia
