New and Familiar

Primghar Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting Friday February 28th at 4pm for the new owners of Triple R Fabrication and Machine Shop, located at 855 3rd St SE in Primghar.  New owners, Caleb Bakker and Jon Hofman, both from Sanborn took possession Jan 1, 2020.

Triple R Repair LLC in Primghar has new owners. The new partnership of Jon Hofman and Caleb Bakker, both of Sanborn, was celebrated on Friday February 28. Former owners Robert Van Beek and Ron Grothaus handed over the keys to their protégés of two and a half years and one and a half years respectively. Both Robert and Ron are still working and helping keeping the transition smooth.

Jon says he came to learn the business. He is a graduate of the Diesel Mechanics program at NCC, but wanted to own his own business. He has known about the "Triple R" opportunity for about 10 years. He came on board to gain the skills and made the commitment that this will be partly his. Jon offered part of the ownership to his longtime friend Caleb. Caleb spent a year working at a feed mill then joined Jon mid 2018. The pair were classmates at Sanborn Christian School and attended the same church with their parents. They've known each other for many years.

"Triple R Repair LLC" is known for its high quality skills with welding and fabrication. It's specialty is in agriculture machinery and tools, but they can do work for many kinds of machine tools. In addition to the many tasks in fabricating parts, they also have a large assortment of parts including bearings, belts, seals and more.

No changes are planned for the near future. The young entrepreneurs plan to keep their homes in Sanborn while building their new venture in Primghar. The shop at 855 3rd St SE (south of the golf course along Highway B40) in Primghar is open Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00 and Saturdays 8:00 to noon.

Triple R Repair LLC is sitting in the best of both worlds right now. Robert and Ron are still around to teach and guide. Robert says they are very appreciative for the years of customer support. Jon and Caleb are energetic and working to make a living. They welcome existing customers and have open doors for new customers, too.

An open house will be announced at the appropriate time.
