Primghar Council Looks To Repurpose Airport Property

The Primghar Airport has been a source of discussion for many years. Only 3 pilots use it...only 2 pilots use it. Now it's down to 1 plane in the hangar. The runway needs resurfacing. The lights need replacing. If the airport stays construction heights to the east become a problem. It is not currently FFA compliant. Without being in compliance the airport is ineligible for grants and other monetary support from federal or state sources. The upgrade costs to become compliant reach tens of thousands of dollars and more than a good season to complete.
