Learn How to Make Money through Soil Health

STORM LAKE, IA, Feb. XX, 2020 — USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Buena Vista Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) are co-hosting a soil health and cover crops workshop called “Making Money with Soil Health”, to be held March 6 at 10 a.m. at Prairie Lakes AEA in Storm Lake.

The Iowa Pork Producers Association is sponsoring a free lunch at the workshop.

The workshop will feature Doug Peterson, Regional Soil Health Specialist with NRCS, who will discuss the economics of soil health, no-till and cover crop benefits, and the best ways to livestock graze cover crops.

NRCS, Buena Vista SWCD, and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) will be available to answer questions about conservation program and planning opportunities to assist local landowners.
