January 30, 2020
West Sioux ran its record to 15-0 with an 83-65 win over South O'Brien January 24 at Hawarden. The Falcons overwhelmed South O'Brien 29-12 in the second quarter on the way to ending the Wolverines' eight game winning streak and dropping the visitors to 4-2 in the War Eagle Conference.
The home team connected on 55 percent of their field goal attempts (28-of-51), including 10-of-24 from downtown. For good measure, the Falcons sank 17 of their 20 free throw tries. West Sioux's starters accounted for all but one of the team's 83 points.
South O'Brien was no slouch from the floor, shooting 48 percent (24-of-50). The Wolverines were 2-of-11 from three-point range and 15-of-25 at the charity stripe.
Jackson Louscher scored 25 points for South O'Brien and Alex Presthus added 13. The Wolverines got seven points from Zeke Lundquist, four apiece from Tristan Wilson, Josh Johannsen and Jake Wallin, three from Caden Hale, two each from Case Moermond and Jarome Jackson and one from Sean Negus.
Louscher was the leader in rebounds with 10 and in assists with eight. Wilson came away with three steals and Hale stole the ball twice.
