Comets' shooting blazes a path past Lady Wolverines

Neither team shot poorly when South O'Brien challenged Boyden-Hull January 25 at Hull. It's just that the Comets from the Siouxland Conference shot a little better in coming away with a 69-44 victory. With the loss the Wolverines slipped below .500 at 7-8 on the season.

Boyden-Hull was successful on an even 50 percent of their 50 shots, making 25. The Wolverines produced 17 baskets in 42 attempts to wind up at 40 percent. The Comets' outstanding shooting was also exhibited at the free throw line. The hosts sank 16 of their 19 charity tosses for 84 percent. South O'Brien was 7-of-11 at the foul line, good for 64 percent.

Scoring in double figures for the Wolverines were Kaylee Jacobs with 13 points and Taryn Hintz with 12. Anna Friedrichsen added eight points, Willa Sickelka six and Skye Rehder five. Brooke Zylstra's 24 points led the way for Boyden-Hull.

Hintz finished with four rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot. Sickelka contributed five rebounds and two steals. Jacobs added another two thefts. The assists leaders were Friedrichsen with three and Rehder with two.
