Wolverines' winning ways continue at Emmetsburg's expense

South O'Brien ran its winning streak to eight games with a conclusive 63-32 win over Emmetsburg January 16 at Paullina. The victory over the visitors from the Twin Lakes Conference bumped the Wolverines' season mark to 10-2.

A healthy 51 percent of South O'Brien's field goal attempts found the mark as the team went 27-of-53. The E-Hawks were at 30 percent for the game with 13 baskets in 44 attempts. The Wolverines toed the free throw line 17 times with nine conversions. Emmetsburg was 1-of-3 at the stripe.

South O'Brien sported three double-figure scorers. Tristan Wilson led with 16 points while Jackson Louscher and Zeke Lundquist each tallied 14. Alex Presthus, with eight points, was followed by Josh Johannsen with six, Sean Negus and Dain Moermond with two each and Wyatt Harper with one. Louscher assisted on five buckets.

Three steals were part of Louscher's stat line and Case Moermond and Lundquist each blocked a shot. Leaders on the boards were Lundquist with eight rebounds and Presthus with six.
