THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...For the Wind Chill Advisory, very cold wind chills. Wind
chills as low as 30 below zero. For the Winter Weather Advisory,
mixed precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6
inches and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch.
Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch,
blizzard conditions possible. Total additional snow
accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of a light
glaze possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of east central South Dakota, northwest Iowa
and southwest Minnesota.
* WHEN...For the Wind Chill Advisory, until 9 AM CST this morning. For
the Winter Weather Advisory, from 6 AM Friday to midnight CST
Friday night. For the Winter Storm Watch, from late Friday night
through Saturday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite
on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Areas of blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility. Plan on slippery
road conditions with the morning and evening commutes of Friday
