Strong first half carries Wolverines past Westwood

Westwood of Sloan made the long trip to Paullina for a Saturday matinee with South O'Brien December 15. The host Wolverines made sure the contest was effectively over by halftime. South O'Brien led by 31 at the halfway point en route to a 64-36 win, improving to 3-2 on the season.
The Wolverines got 20 points from Jackson Louscher, nine from Caden Hale, eight from both Jake Wallin and Zeke Lundquist, four each from Case Moermond and Alex Presthus, three from Jarome Jackson and two each from Tristan Wilson, Sean Negus, Josh Johannsen and Wyatt Harper. Wilson added four steals and two assists. Hale also assisted on two baskets and Presthus was the top rebounder with three.
South O'Brien shot 20-of-44 (45 percent) from the floor, including 4-of-10 from three-point range. The Rebels made 13 of their 41 field goal attempts for 32 percent. From the free throw line, the Wolverines were 20-of-28 while Westwood was a perfect 7-for-7.
