Shots don't fall for Wolverines in loss to St. Mary's

South O'Brien was unable to avenge last season's loss to Remsen St. Mary's in the boys substate tourney game, falling to the Hawks 51-40 December 14 at Paullina. The Wolverines' offensive struggles were spotlighted by the fact that they launched 20 three-point shots and were able to convert nary a one. The loss dropped South O'Brien to 0-1 in the War Eagle Conference.

St. Mary's led by only a bucket after one half of action but outscored the Wolverines 16-8 in the third quarter. The Hawks made seven of their 20 three-point tries and were 14-of-35 overall from the field for 40 percent. South...
