December 19, 2019

South O'Brien entertained Westwood December 14 in Saturday afternoon action. It turned out to be a profitable matchup for the hosts as they emerged with a 55-51 victory to improve to 3-2 on the season.

Kaylee Jacobs notched her second straight 19-point outing to lead the Wolverines in scoring. South O'Brien followed Friday night's 40-rebound effort by collecting 36 caroms against the Rebels. Leading the way was Taryn Hintz with 16 rebounds. Wolverine head coach Erica Dreckman was pleased with the weekend's pair of victories. "The girls did well rebounding," commented Dreckman. "We pushed the ball up the floor but knew when to slow down and set the offense up."

Anna Friedrichsen turned in a double-digit scoring performance with 14 points. She shot 5-of-7 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line. Hintz added nine points and Breana Bottjen, Skye Rehder and Sydney Struve each scored three while Willa Sickelka and Jillian Heemstra finished with two apiece. South O'Brien made 20 of 59 shot attempts for 34 percent and were 9-of-16 at the foul line.

Riley Draper led the Wolverines in assists with four. Coming away with two steals apiece were Jacobs, Rehder and Hintz who also blocked a shot.
