Thanksgiving community dinner in Primghar.

Primghar -

Community Thanksgiving in Sutherland.

Members of Primghar Church of Christ worked together for another successful year of providing a Thanksgiving community dinner. According to Kay Hicks, about 50 people were served, either at the church or delivered to their homes. She said there was so much food donated to the cause. Several volunteers helped make the event successful with four primary people who cooked, served and cleaned up. Much thanks to all.

Sutherland -

Three families joined together in Sutherland to host a Community Thanksgiving meal at the Fire station. This was the 8th year that the meal was opened to the public at large. The David and Barb Wheeler family, Linda McClaren and family and the Judy Larson family, including guests who travel from southern Iowa to join the community festivities are the volunteer families involved in making the event happen.

Barb Wheeler said the group counted 83 people served including 6 deliveries and a few take-outs. The meal is free to guests. Over time, money and food donations have grown to support such a great gift of giving as this. They invite all who are without family or friends at Thanksgiving.
