Before the railroad and before the disappearance of wolf and gopher scalps as legal tender in Primghar, George W. Schee played a pivotal role in the development of what was Primghar Savings Bank. Mr. Schee came to the Iowa prairie as a 22-year-old Civil War veteran. He survived every idea of challenge laid upon the untamed west, as it might be described in the 1870s.
