Road Care Changes for O'Brien County

 

On Thursday June 27 a public hearing and a first reading of County Ordinance No. 23 were held. An amendment to the ordinance redefines minimum bridge widths on unpaved routes and establishes a minimum finish top on unpaved roads. There were no comments for the public hearing. The first reading was approved.

The second reading occurred at the July 2 meeting. This amendment creates new reconstruction standards for certain kinds of roads. The minimum bridge width on an unpaved road with annual average daily traffic (AADT) of greater than 50 vehicles to 24 feet, down from a minimum width of 26...
