Wolverines can't maintain early pace, fall to Gehlen

Gehlen Catholic broke a five-all tie with a run in the fifth inning and added one more in the sixth to hand South O'Brien a 7-5 War Eagle Conference loss June 20 at Paullina. The Wolverines were held off the scoreboard over the final four innings as their record dropped to 1-6 in the conference and 2-10 overall.

After the Jays scored a run in the first, South O'Brien responded with three in the bottom of the inning. Micah Davis and Case Moermond opened the inning with singles but Moermond was caught trying to stretch his into a double. Davis scored when a pitch went to the backstop. Taylor...
