Lady Wolverines blank Trinity in opener

 

Deuces were wild for Gabby Heeren with two hits, two runs and two RBI in two at bats.

The South O'Brien girls got the softball season started with a bang. The Wolverines scored eight runs in their first at-bat on the way to a 12-0 shutout of Trinity Christian May 24 at Paullina. The victors added four runs in the third to end the game.

Bailey Tjossem got the pitching start and allowed the Tigers one hit in two innings of work. The senior recorded three strikeouts. Sydney Struve came on in relief to start the third inning and promptly struck out the side.
