South O'Brien boys score well in hosting Wolverine Relays


South O'Brien broke in the new track at Paullina by welcoming three teams to the Wolverine Relays on May 2. With just four schools competing, the Wolverine boys had a chance to compile a season-high points total of 178. Unity Christian did slightly better, scoring 187 points. This was the last competition before Thursday's Class 1A state qualifying meet at Armstrong.

First-place finishers included the usual suspects: Matt Riedemann in the 110 meter hurdles and the high jump, Kanner Bauer in the discus and the 4x100 relay of Bauer, Riedemann, Austin Paulsen and Sean Negus. Individuals placin...
