Lady Wolverines get split against HMS and A-W

Rachel Sohn chips on to the green.

South O'Brien, Akron-Westfield, and Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn faced off at Primghar in a War Eagle Conference triangular on a perfect night for golf Thursday, May 2, in Primghar. South O'Brien's girls defeated HMS 204-256 but lost to Akron-Westfield 204-192. In the SOS vs. HMS dual, South O'Brien swept the medals. Rachel Sohn was medalist with a 47. Kaidee Weber took second with a 50, Shara Wallin shot 51 for third, and Jillian Heemstra took fourth with a 56. In the SOS vs. A-W dual, the Wolverines faced some tougher competition. A-W's Alayna Mullinix nudged out Rachel Sohn with a 45. Sohn shot a 47 and took second place after a card playoff. Although it was a perfect night for golf, the girls struggled and got into trouble in places they usually don't. The greens were slower than expected, and they battled to find the groove. Hopefully, we got it out of our system before heading to The Ridge for the WEC meet on Tuesday. We will be making up duals with MMCRU and Remsen St. Mary's when we're there, so we need to put this behind us and prove ourselves.

All eyes are on the tee shot of Kaidee Weber.
