Reminder of Upcoming Sutherland Community Meeting On May 22

PRIMGHAR, Iowa – What should Sutherland do to attract new residents? That is the topic of a community meeting at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 at the R.L Johannsen Building, 110 Ash Street, Sutherland.

Area residents and representatives of community organizations are encouraged to attend and share their ideas.

A group of Sutherland residents have been discussing how to better market the community as a great place to live, as part of the Marketing Hometown America program sponsored by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

Over four sessions, the group discussed community assets and opportunities, and drafted a marketing plan. On May 22, the group will present the draft plan to the community, then ask community members to share additional ideas and help identify priorities.

If you have questions or would like more information, contact Sharon Flinders at 712-446-3749 or Jami Webster at 712-229-5069; or Jane Nolan Goeken, ISU Extension and Outreach community development specialist, at jngoeken@iastate.edu or 712-240-2504.
