Orange City Tulip Festival's ArtBurst to Feature 33 Artists from 7 States

ORANGE CITY, IOWA-Thirty-three artists from seven states will exhibit and sell their work at ArtBurst May 17 and 18 as part of the annual Orange City Tulip Festival.
ArtBurst will take place on the grounds of the historic Sioux County Courthouse from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free to the public.
Half of this year's artists are new to ArtBurst. The show will include paintings, jewelry, pottery, woodcarvings, metalwork and photography. Also for sale will be stained glass and fiber art.
ArtBurst is a juried exhibition, with best-of-show cash prizes awarded for both two-dimensional and three-dimensional work. Serving as this year's juror is Matt Drissell of Sioux Center. Drissell has a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from New York Academy of Art and serves as an associate professor of art at Dordt College. His work has been featured in solo and group shows in six states. In 2015-16, he was named an Artist Fellow by the Iowa Arts Council.
