Highway 59 Construction Begins

A sign of the times, with the onset of good weather road repair and construction begins its all to familiar pattern of detours and delays in the area. On the good side the end result is worth the wait. As always be aware of the construction workers on the roads.

Patching began on Monday April 15 on Highway 59 from the Highway 10 East intersection north to the intersection with Highway 18. This process is expected to take 8-10 days. May 6 is the start date for milling of the road shoulders. The hard surface of the shoulders will be ground out. Four feet will be cold in place recycle material put back into place. An additional four feet of granular material will be applied making the shoulders ten feet in width. The hard surface will be milled 3-4 inches in depth on then 3 inches of cold in place recycle will be applied with a 1-inch overlay.
