On February 19, several of the South O'Brien FFA members took part in the Sub-District Leadership Contests at Sibley. Individuals and teams that placed 1st and 2nd advanced onto Districts. One of the South O'Brien FFA teams that advanced to Districts by placing 2nd and earning a Gold rating was the Conduct of Meetings team, consisting of seven 8th grade members: Grant Wagner (president), Dante Johnson (vice president), Leo Sells (sentinel), Hudson Oolman (secretary), Abby Stout (reporter), Dain Moermond (treasurer), and Jacob Van Lith (advisor).

This event is designed for FFA members in seventh, eighth, and ninth grade. It introduces members to parliamentary procedure as they build communication skills and learn how to conduct efficient meetings. The members hold various officer duties as they demonstrate correct use of opening and closing ceremonies. Along with demonstrating opening and closing ceremonies, the members are asked questions about officer duties, meeting room preparation, and parliamentary procedure.

The Conduct of Meetings team placed 5th and received a Silver rating at the NW District FFA Convention hosted by MVAOCU on March 2.
