Lair Max Paulsen

Lair Max Paulsen, 52 years old, of Brandon, SD passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD.

Lair was born on August 9, 1966 at the Orange City Hospital, Orange City, IA, the son of Lawrence Paulsen and Gladys (Gebert) Paulsen. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church, Germantown, IA and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Paullina, IA. He grew up on a farm near Granville, IA until moving to Paullina, IA.

Lair was educated at Remsen-Union Schools, Remsen, IA until 7th grade when he moved to Paullina, IA with his parents and attended 7th and 8th grades at Zion Lutheran School, his high school years was at Paullina Public Schools, and colleges at Estherville, IA and Vermillion, SD.

He spent most of his time in arizona and New York where he utilized his career of a hair stylist working on Broadway and for TV shows and movies. He met many wonderful people throughout his career and his various travels and formed many friendships along the way.

Survivors include his mother, Gladys Paulsen of Paullina, IA, two brothers: Duane and his wife, Lynne Paulsen of Brandon, SD and Jim Paulsen of Spencer, IA, a sister-in-law Lois Paulsen of Granville, IA, and lots of nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence, brother Dan, and grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Max Paulsen and Mr. & Mrs. Art Gebert.

A private burial will be at a later date.
