Overtime equals heartbreak for Wolverines in substate loss to Remsen St. Mary's

For the second straight year a trip to the state tournament was oh so close but yet oh so far. South O'Brien was trying to return to Des Moines for the first time since capturing the 1A title in 2016 when it took on Remsen St. Mary's in a 1A substate game February 25 at MOC-Floyd Valley high school in Orange City. Unfortunately for the Wolverines, they felt the sting of a second overtime loss this season to St. Mary's. This time the pain was all the greater as it sent the Hawks on to state for the third year in a row and sent South O'Brien home.

The Wolverines were back in the substate game...
