Stabbing Investigated In Calumet

The O'Brien County Sheriffs Office assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation are

investigating a stabbing injury that occurred at 2 12 W. North Street in Calumet, Iowa. The

sheriff's office responded to a call at about 9:30 a.m. March 1,2019. They found Terry Lee

Hoppe, age 65, at his residence with a stab injury to his chest.

Hoppe was transported to the Cherokee Regional Medical Center by Sutherland Ambulance. He

was transferred to Mercy One Hospital in Sioux City where he remains in ICU in critical

condition.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation lab team was called to Calumet to assist with the

investigation. The Paullina Police Department assisted with security at the scene. The

investigation is continuing.
