Wolverines roll past HMS

South O'Brien picked up its ninth War Eagle Conference victory of the season by thumping Hartley-Melvin-sanborn 70-25 February 5 at Paullina. The nine wins accompany the two conference losses to West Sioux and Remsen St. Mary's.

The Wolverines limited HMS to 11-for-46 shooting (24 percent) with the Hawks going 0-for-18 from three-point range. South O'Brien shot 46 percent (23-of-50) and was 18-for 22 at the free throw line. HMS made three of six charity tosses.

With 29 points, Jackson Louscher outscored the entire HMS team. He was abetted by Caden Hale and Zeke Lundquist with eight points apiece, Layn Case and Alex Presthus with seven apiece, Case Moermond with four, Josh Johannsen with three and Tristan Wilson and Sean Negus with two apiece. The 17 team assists included seven from Hale and four each from Case and Louscher.

Moermond grabbed eight of the team's 39 rebounds. Louscher and Lundquist each pulled down six boards. Louscher managed six steals and Presthus blocked a shot.
