Value of O’Brien County farmland drops 4.48 percent - AMES, IA — The average value of an acre of farmland in O’Brien County dropped to $2,409 in 1998, a decrease of $113 from the $2,522 average value per acre in 1997. Statewide, O’Brien County farmland is the sixth most valuable per acre. Counties with a higher value per acre include Scott, $2,859; Hamilton, $2,526; Wright, $2,489; Grundy, $2,416; and Story, $2,415.
