Strong second half carries West Sioux past Wolverines

West Sioux turned a one-point halftime deficit into a 54-41 win over South O’Brien’s boys in War Eagle Conference action December 7 at Hawarden. The loss dropped the Wolverines to 1-1 in the conference. Hunter Dekkers poured in 30 points to lead the way for the host Falcons.
South O’Brien registered 36 percent from the floor, making 14 of 39 shots. The Falcons were successful on 20 of 45 field goal attempts for 44 percent. They popped in eight three-pointers compared to just three for the visitors, who were 10 of 12 at the free throw line. West Sioux made 6 of 9 free throws.
The Wolverines got 13 points from both Jackson Louscher and Zeke Lundquist. Layn Case added six points, Case Moermond three and Tristan Wilson, Caden Hale and Alex Presthus two apiece. Lundquist collected six rebounds, Case recorded five assists and Louscher made two steals.
