Festival of Trees Successful

Handmade quilts by talented ladies adorned the Paullina American Legion Building on Friday November 30 at Paullina's annual Festival of Trees. Organizers moved the highlight luncheon to a Friday evening meal to avoid predicted severe weather on Saturday. The move was a huge success.

Despite foul weather forcing quick changes in Paullina's annual Festival of Trees, the turnout for the rapid response to weather was large and as jovial as always.

Organizers for the Festival of Trees caved to the persistent and urgent calls of meteorologists urging a weekend hunker-down. Predictions of up to 12 inches of snow, preceded by rain, freezing rain, then sleet for Friday night through Sunday led to the decision to alter plans.

The public viewing of decorated trees and tables and the workmanship of lovely quilts was open to the public Friday evening as planned. The Paullina Americ...
