Making Beeswax Candles.

The archer Public Library hosted a series of 3 Pollinator-Bee programs in October.

The 1st presentation was Marlene Boernsen, bee keeper in Ocheyedan. Marlene brought a frame of live bees to show, then discussed how honey went from the hive to bottle. Each person took home a bottle of honey for free.

The 2nd presentation was by richard ludeke, bee keeper in archer. Richard presented information about bees wax use, past and present. Following the presentation each participant got to roll a beeswax candle and keep the item for free.

The 3rd presentation was again by richard ludeke of which each participant got to make

bees wax lip balm and hand lotion from bees wax. All participants took home lip balm for free.

Each event was a full house of participants. The archer Public Library would like to thank all participants and presenters. Including the O'Brien County Foundation grant for funding these educational presentations.
