PHS Class of 1953

September 13, 2018

The PHS class of 1953 held a 2-day reunion in observance of their 65th year of graduation. They invited members of the class of 1952 and 1954 to join them. The group of forty gathered at JW’s Bar/Grill on Saturday, September 01, 2018 to get reacquainted, enjoy a buffet dinner and reminisce about times spent at Paullina High School. Donnell Johnson of Virginia welcomed the guests and along with the planning committee continued to keep the program flowing. During the evening, Jacki Manna, a professional ventriloquist/magician from Florida, entertained the group with her exquisite talent. Jacki is the daughter of Carolyn Miller Manna; class of ’53. Robert Reimer displayed and donated some artwork. Likewise, Ann Innes Reimer gifted two of her paintings. Chatter, hugs and pictures prevailed.

The following morning thirty classmates returned to JW’s for fellowship and for the opportunity to share in the message given by classmate, Pastor William Nielsen of Alabama, while enjoying coffee and rolls. Before departing for their respective homes, Larry Mitchell from Fort Dodge, reminiscent of his high school days, sang the “Irish Blessing.” What a heartwarming experience; and yes, we hope God is with all of us until we meet again.

It was exciting to see so many “Panthers” congregate in Paullina to share memories of the 50’s. Along with those from the area, they came from AL, AZ, FL, MN, MO, TX and VA.
