A general obligation bond issue up to $600,000 was approved by the Paullina City Council at the Jul 16 meeting. The borrowing allows the city to borrow up to that amount of money for specific purposes. The city plans to borrow the money to pay for sewer and water infrastructure and upgrading electric capacity at the West Industrial Park. Allowable spending in the bond issue includes the construction of streets in the project area. The resolution passed by the council on July 16 established an urban renewal area under Iowa law.
