Severe Hailstorm Sunday Afternoon Inflicts Great Damage to Crops

A severe hailstorm, accompanied by a stiff wind and about an inch of rainfall, struck south and east of Sutherland about 2’30 Sunday afternoon. Damage to corn, soybeans and small grain crops amounted to almost 100 percent on several of the farms. Some of the farmers without insurance have already replanted some of their fields, mostly to soybeans.
