Former Sutherland Legion Building Available

 


At the organizational American Legion Post 152 Sutherland meeting in July 1949 the members at the time set in place a solid plan to build a new community building and Legion Post. The group announced it had, at the time, $10,000 in available funds and member pledges for the building project. Rex Martin, just elected Vice Commander, chaired the committee.

The plan was to build a 40’ x 80’ concrete block building with a full basement with a complete kitchen and upper floor with a public auditorium. The plan is for a place to offer wholesome entertainment to people of all ages. Events incl...
